  2. Core Gameplay Elements

Resources

Resources are a central gameplay feature in Plodding Isles. Players must harvest resources to upgrade their ship, upgrade your tools, craft special goods to sell at market, or trade to fellow players.

Fish

There will be different kinds of fish with different rarities that players can catch on their personal plot of land, or at communal fishing areas on the Sanctuary Islands. They can be used as food or displayed in-game, inside fish tanks, or withdrawn at the in-game marketplace into the player's crypto-wallet as NFTs.

Produce

There will be a variety of vegetables and fruits that can be farmed on the player’s plot of land. These items can be crafted into foods that will be needed to keep your crew fed while embarked on your ship.

Wood

Can be harvested from trees on your land or from communal forestry areas. Wood can be used to upgrade your ship, your buildings and to craft.

Coal

Can be collected from breaking Black Rocks. Used to power furnaces.

Copper

Can be collected from breaking Speckled Red Rocks. Will need to be smelted from its raw form to it’s pure copper bar form. Can be used for crafting, upgrading and trading.

Stone

Can be collected from breaking rocks on your land or at communal mining areas and used for crafting, construction and upgrading.

Sulphur

Can be collected from breaking Yellow Rocks. Used to craft Gunpowder, which is needed to fuel Cannons, either on your ship or installed as defensive structures on your land.

Iron

Can be obtained from breaking Brown Rocks. Will need to be smelted from its raw form to it’s pure bar form. Can be used for crafting, upgrading and trading.

Gold (resource, not currency)

Can be obtained from breaking Speckled Yellow Rocks. Will need to be smelted from its raw form to its smelted bar form. Can be used to craft more valuable and ornate items and upgrades to be sold on the market or shown off at your base, on your ship, on your player character or withdrawn at the in-game marketplace into the player's crypto-wallet as NFTs.

Rare resources

Gemstones

Can be Green (rare), Blue (rarer) and Red (rarest). Obtained from breaking Shiny Stones. A rare resource that can be used to craft rare and valuable upgrades and high-stat items. Like gold, but rarer. Can be traded or sold for Dubloon Token.

Crystalite

The rarest resource available. Can only be found as treasure, or rare loot drops upon beating difficult AI opponents. Used to craft the most valuable and the rarest upgrades and high stat items. Can also be traded or sold for Dubloon Token.
